We did it! Thanks to everyone who came out/in for the inaugural Second Life Future Salon. Around 40 avatars made the pilgrimage to Bedazzle's China Town setting, and Hudson Stryker's audio set-up worked swimmingly. Randal Moss and Jim Purbrick's forward-pushing presentations were recorded and will be posted here for download ASAP (along with a transcript of audience Q&A, hopefully by this weekend). Once I get the files I'll do a write-up of both presentations using direct quotes. Randy and Jim will be invited here as authors if they have anything to add, or if you guys have any questions you'd like them to answer (let me know).
Feedback on the Salon from those who were there would be much appreciated! And if anyone is interested in helping us stream the next Salon out onto the Web so more people can access it, please be in touch. The extreme promise of these events was evident last night, and now we need to work on stream-lining access to and discussion around the content for people on the Web, as well as innovating the direct Salon experience inside Second Life. Please send me your ideas.
The date and presenters for next month's Salon are not 100% set yet, but the location will be Jade Lily's lovely SL Public Library. Stay tuned for updates (good idea to join the SL Future Salon Yahoo! group for announcements).
Here's part a of giant collage of pics from last night's Salon (full collage here): Enjoy :-)
Ooooooh! Way coolz. I'm sad I missed it, but I hope I can make it to the next one, and I'm looking forward to the "playback" transcripts from this event.
Yes, Jadey's library would be a lovely place to have the next one, but then again: I am openly, happily, biased. :)
Purrhaps best that Gualala gets a sim-up tho, it's on a sluggy one right now that I doubt could handle more than 30 avs. @[email protected]
