Thanks to everyone who came out for the Pre-Second Life Future Salon Meet-Up last night (and thanks again to Csven for hosting it at his pad!). This was a great casual gathering that networked some of the people who'll attend next week's Salon, and it raised some new possibilities for where we can take the Salon series and this site as a community resource. Posts on those subjects next week...
At peak, I think we had 25 avatars simultaneously chatting away on Csven's porch. About half as many additional also come through before I logged out more than two hours after the meet-up started (and a handful were still at it)! It was great meeting all you guys and hearing your thoughts on Second Life, the Future Salon, your own projects, and everything else. And if you couldn't make it to the meet-up but are interested, drop me an email at jerrypaffendorf(at)accelerating(dot)org, or IM me in SL where I gallivant as SNOOPYbrown Zamboni.
I was pinged with over one zillion IMs (well, around there) during the meet-up, so if you were there and asked to RSVP for the Salon or join the SL Future Salon group, don't worry, I'll sort it alllll out and get back to you soon :-)
BTW, Hamlet Linden also swung by to join the Hey-saying and futuring for a while. He has a nice write-up and announcement of next week's first Salon on his New World Notes blog. His pics from the meet-up below (click for larger):
